Mickey Cogdill, Pastor, came to Bannertown Baptist Church in 2011 after graduating from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master's of Divinity. Married to Martha, they have 3 grown sons and have loved being Grandparents to Lockelan. As a pastor he is committed to expository preaching and servant leadership. Prior to his calling to ministry, Mickey graduated from Bowman Gray School of Medicine and practiced cardiology for 17 years as a PA. Mickey's life verses are Galatians 2:20 and Acts 20:24. Beyond spending time with family, he enjoys reading, golfing and hunting.
Passionate about music from a young age, I grew up in a musical family, surrounded by many other genres of music, from Hymns, Southern Gospel, Country, Bluegrass to Popular music. I am blessed with a loving, supportive family - my wife, Fonda, along with our two wonderful children, Keightley and Jonathan. With over 30 years of experience as a worship leader, studio session musician, audio engineer and producer, along with a B.A. in Worship Arts, I am devoted to helping others know, love and worship Jesus Christ and privileged to be a part of His divine mission.

Hey! My name is John Smith and I am blessed with the opportunity to serve as the Youth Director here at Bannertown. I also work at an engineering firm - Moore & Associates as a Structural Engineer. I married my wife, Breanna, in July 2021. In September 2022, we welcomed our dog, Lola, to the family. Breanna & I are proud North Surry Greyhound and NC State Wolfpack alumni. Cristi serves as Children's Ministry Director at BBC. She is a retired elementary school teacher from Surry County Schools and has lived in Mt Airy for the past 30 years. She has been a member of BBC for the past 5 years and is continuing her love of working with children and serving God at BBC teaching them about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sylvia serves as Administrative Assistant in the church office at Bannertown Baptist. She has been a long-time member of the church. She grew up in the Bannertown area of Mount Airy. Sylvia has extensive experience as an Administrative Assistant, having retired from Surry Baptist Association after 30 years of service. She is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and serves in many other positions at the church, including children’s Sunday School teacher.
